Source: EU to roll over anti-Russian sanctions for six months

BRUSSELS, Sep 14 (PRIME) -- The E.U. will formally approve a decision to roll over anti-Russian sanctions for six more months without a discussion at the meeting on Thursday, E.U. sources told PRIME.

The sanctions were imposed in March 2014 against Russian and Ukrainian individuals and companies that the E.U. says are guilty of disrupting the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The E.U. has been regularly prolonging the sanctions for six months since then. Currently, the black list consists of 153 individuals and 40 companies.

The Committee of Permanent Representatives of the E.U. made a preliminary decision to roll over the sanctions on September 6, and approved only technical changes to the black list excluding four dead people from it. Sources told PRIME that the E.U. Justice and Home Affairs Council is to meet on Thursday and formally approve the prolongation.
